A escolha do nome “Babel” não é mistério para ninguém. Trata-se realmente da famosa torre, mencionada no livro bíblico “Gênesis”, cuja pretensiosa construção teria impelido Deus a fazer com que seus construtores passassem a falar línguas diferentes, não se compreendendo entre si, tornando impossível a continuidade do intento.
